The Spirit of Man

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

If I’m totally honest, I must admit I often cringe at the disgusting thoughts I sometimes entertain. I want to be acceptable to my Creator. I want to do what’s right; do His will; walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. I want to stand on His holy mountain with clean hands and a pure heart, but I fail miserably.

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save THE SPIRIT OF MAN which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” — 1Co 2:11

Man tends to walk after the spirit that’s in him. But what is spirit? I think your spirit is that which you believe; the word that’s in you. Words can change the spirit that’s in you. Belief comes through hearing…

An evil spirit can enter a person when it’s allowed. You hear something; you allow, or you resist.

There are weak spirits and there are strong spirits. Music or a song is spirit. You can resist it, or it can blow you away. There are also people with spirits that can blow you away.

Imagine you look up, and here enters Mr Nelson Mandela. He walks towards you with a friendly smile and sticks his hand out to greet. I don’t care who you are or how much you may love or hate him. I tell you, you’ll be blown away! You’ll smile back, and greet him. That’s what I would do.

Today is Mr Mandela’s birthday. He’s 90. Happy birthday Mr Mandela. I think it’s because of the spirit that’s in you that South Africa is what it is today. As you know, a few of the black elite are very well off now, but most are worse off than ever before. Since the ANC came to power, 300,000 people were murdered in this country. I don’t think I heard you mention a word about it. White people, even those that were born after 1994, are second class citizens in their own country today. Black people have more rights. Even new legislation grants Chinese immigrants the same rights as blacks. Companies are obliged to employ Chinese before whites because of Black Economic Empowerment and Employment Equity legislation. There is more racial hatred in South Africa than ever before.

If I were you, Mr Mandela, I would probably have done the same thing. So I cannot condemn you. I can just think. Who knows…?

Yes, some spirits are strong spirits, but just as the little stone killed Goliath, so the truth will hit the conspirators between the eyes, and they’ll fall on their faces. You know who you are. The spirit that’s in you tells you that “love is good, and hate is bad,” but that’s not correct. You got it all wrong. The Holy Spirit tells us instead, “love what’s good, but hate what’s bad.” A subtle difference indeed.

Dear reader, the spirit that’s in you may be a lying spirit that makes you believe that your government has your best interests at heart. I promise you, they don’t. I don’t care whether you are black or white. There’s only one government that will have your best interests at heart, and that’s the government that’s soon to be established here on earth: The Kingdom of the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. The kingdom of heaven that we pray for: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done…” It’s coming. Are you ready?
